Taiwanese American Cultural Festival in the center of San Francisco

Popular by hundreds of Bay Area Taiwanese Americans as well as local San Franciscans, the Taiwanese American Cultural Festival offering a window into Taiwan in San Francisco's Union Square,


There are over 150,000 Taiwanese living within the Bay Area. The "Taiwanese Culture Day," proclaimed by Mayor Gavin Newsom, highlights a weeklong celebration of the Taiwanese American Heritage Week. It is also an important event during the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month of May.


The festival featured a daylong celebration, which included folk and modern dances, the Taiwanese chorus, some amazing Kung Fu stunts, agile acrobatics, and traditional lion dances.
